Check In registrations reach 30,000

Jane Howlett,Minister for Small Business

The Tasmanian Liberal Government congratulates Tasmanian businesses for continuing to make Tasmania safe by adopting the Check In TAS app QR process.

Around 30,013 venues have now registered to use the Check In TAS QR code, as a strong safeguard to keep our community safe from a COVID-19 outbreak.

There is now no minimum timeframe for check in requirements. Everyone aged 16 years or older must check in, no matter how short their visit is to the businesses.

From 31 July 2021, the range of premises required to use the Check In TAS app will expand and businesses will also require staff to check in on each shift.

Our number one focus remains the health and safety of all Tasmanians which is why it’s important that we do everything we can to minimise any risks to the community.

To support businesses as they move to adopt the process, we are developing resources and tools and will continue to work with businesses so they are confident in their obligations and able to communicate with customers and patrons.

Details on the Check in TAS app and how to register for a QR Code can be found via the Business Tasmania website at www.business.tas.gov.au/coronavirus_information/check_in_tas_app.
