Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating after a child was critically injured in a hit-run collision in Sunshine North on Thursday.
Emergency services were called to McIntyre Road to reports a child had been struck by a red sedan about 6.30pm.
The child, a three-year-old boy, was taken to hospital with life-threatening-injuries.
The driver of the vehicle failed to render assistance and drove off from the scene.
The sedan was last seen travelling north on McIntyre Road.
Investigators are appealing for the driver to come forward and contact police.
