A child has died after being hit by a car in Sydney’s west this afternoon.
About 2.05pm (Tuesday 15 September 2026), emergency services were called to Normanby Road, Auburn, following reports a child had been hit by a car.
Officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command attended and were told a three-year-old girl had been hit by a vehicle while it was entering a driveway.
The girl was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being transported to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.
Police have since been advised the three-year-old has died in hospital.
The driver – a 27-year-old man – was uninjured and was taken to Auburn Hospital for mandatory testing.
A crime scene has been established with an investigation into the incident underway.
A report will be prepared for the information of the NSW Coroner.
