Child Dies In West Melbourne Collision

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a fatal collision in West Melbourne this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to reports four vehicles had collided on Dynon Road just before 4.30pm.

A female child in one of the vehicles died at the scene.

The male driver of that vehicle as well as a second child were transported to hospital in a critical condition.

A further two passengers, a woman and child, were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The male driver and sole occupant of a second vehicle was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The female driver and sole occupant of a third vehicle sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics.

The male driver and sole occupant of a fourth vehicle was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision is ongoing.
