Child found in car after burnout

A P-plater has had her car impounded after she was caught performing a burnout with a toddler in the car outside the police impound facility in Preston.

Police observed the woman conduct a 35 metre burnout outside the Raglan Street premises on Wednesday 17 August at about 3.50pm.

Officers spoke to the woman in a nearby street shortly later where they found the toddler inside the vehicle.

The 33-year-old Glen Waverley woman is expected to be charged on summons with improper use of a motor vehicle.

The car was also impounded for 30 days at a cost of $675.
