Children’s Week Picnic

Pack the picnic blanket and join in all the fun as the greatest family outdoor event in the west, Wyndham City’s Children’s Week Picnic, returns next month!

This much-loved Wyndham City event will be held on Sunday 22 October at Werribee Park, 10am – 4pm.

Tickets for this free event are essential and will be available online from 9am, Monday 2 October.

Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Susan McIntyre, encouraged families to plan ahead and pre-book their tickets.

“This year’s event will feature a fantastic line-up of performances and interactive activities including family favourites The Teeny Tiny Stevies, side-splitting comedy from The Listies and The Scientwits, Polyglot Theatre’s playful, buzzing Bees, and loads of fun in the See Make Play marquee and our Active Kids Zone.”

“The day is all about trying something new, with opportunities for children to learn new skills and have some fun with music, games, sport, workshops and more.”

Creative City Portfolio Holder, Cr Marcel Mahfoud, said the Children’s Week Picnic would feature a range of new activities to enjoy.

“New this year is the H2O Arena, featuring the theatre-based Super Amazing Dolphin Show along with opportunities to learn about our local waterways and keeping safe around water.”

“In the See Make Play marquee, kids will be able to create a fabulous headband or paper flower to wear, while in the Active Kids Zone you can try a range of sports including baseball, disc golf, NRL, rugby, cricket, hockey, tennis and lacrosse!”

“The program will include opportunities to connect with council services, including the popular mini Traffic School, a new Family and Children Hub in the Green explorer’s marquee for nature play and our Youth Services Street Surfer Bus.”

“Families will also be able to enjoy a delicious lunch from the onsite food trucks or pack a picnic to enjoy on the lawns.”

Bookings are essential for this event and ticketholders who can no longer attend are asked to cancel their booking so that other families can enjoy the experience.

This Children’s Week activity is presented by Wyndham City Council in partnership with the Victorian Government.
