Free family fun is on offer on Saturday, December 12 when the Beenleigh Town Square lights up for a special Christmas event.

A screening of Arthur Christmas will be complemented by a Children’s Christmas Show, as well as ‘retro’ games on the big screen.

Attendees are invited to dress up in their brightest Christmas attire.

Food trucks will be onsite with families also encouraged to support local food businesses.

Division 12 Councillor Karen Murphy expected many local families to join the festivities.

“I am thrilled we are able to host such a special Christmas event for our hardworking local families,” Cr Murphy said.

“After a challenging year, it is wonderful that our community can now come together again in celebration while still observing the appropriate social distancing rules.”

The event timetable is:

  • 5pm – Retro Games on the big screen
  • 5.30pm – Children’s Christmas Show
  • 6.30pm – Arthur Christmas screening (1 hour, 37 minutes)

Families should bring chairs or picnic rugs to the event, which will be alcohol and pet free.
