The City of Greater Bendigo is inviting people from different cultural backgrounds to consider becoming Intercultural Ambassadors for Greater Bendigo for 2026-2028.
City of Greater Bendigo Community Partnerships Manager, Amy Holmes said Intercultural Ambassadors help to build relationships and connections between all members of the community.
“The Greater Bendigo Intercultural Ambassadors initiative is part of the City’s commitment to our community vision – celebrating diversity and being welcoming to all,” Ms Holmes said.
“This is a voluntary leadership opportunity for multicultural and First Nations community members from across Greater Bendigo to share their culture, connect with others and enhance understanding of cultural diversity.
“We are looking for people aged over 18 who are passionate about inclusion, diversity and social cohesion and want to make a positive contribution by sharing their culture with others.
“No prior experience is required to become an Intercultural Ambassador, just the enthusiasm and passion to support and promote cultural diversity and inclusion.
“The program aims to build the capacity and confidence of ambassadors and provide opportunities for growth, learning and leadership.
“The ambassadors will host and support events, including citizenship ceremonies, festivals and launches so we are encouraging people who are willing to share their culture and their stories to apply.
“The ambassadors will have a unique opportunity to develop leadership skills, share culture, connect and network with others. They will all undertake a flexible leadership training program and an induction program which includes an explanation of the City’s policies and processes.”
Applications close at 5pm on Monday August 10, 2026.
