City of Darwin has completed upgrades to 66 residential driveways across six suburbs as part of its 2026-27 Driveway Program.
The annual program replaced end of life bitumen driveways with reinforced concrete, improving access to residents’ properties and delivering longer-lasting infrastructure with reduced maintenance requirements.
Works were completed across Nakara, Anula, Jingili, Moil, Wagaman and Tiwi.
Lord Mayor Peter Styles said the program was an important part of City of Darwin’s ongoing investment in neighbourhood infrastructure.
“These are the kinds of practical improvements that make a difference to residents and their neighbourhoods,” Mr Styles said.
“Through this year’s program, we have upgraded 66 driveways across six suburbs, replacing ageing bitumen with reinforced concrete that will provide a longer-lasting result.
“By investing in durable infrastructure now, we can improve access for residents, extend the life of these assets and reduce maintenance requirements,” he said.
The completed 2026-27 program included:
- Nakara: 23 driveways on Adcock Crescent
- Anula: eight driveways across Copperfield Crescent, Elsinore Court, Democrat Court and Virginia Court
- Jingili: six driveways on Borella Circuit
- Moil: three driveways across Rothdale Road, Butters Street and Termansen Street
- Wagaman: four driveways across Wessel Street and Brack Street
- Tiwi: 22 driveways across Koolpinyah Crescent, Creswell Street and Tiwi Gardens.
The Driveway Program forms part of City of Darwin’s investment in roads and pathways under the Municipal Plan 2026-27 and helps extend the life of local infrastructure while reducing maintenance requirements and supporting more sustainable asset management.
