City set for action-packed Winter school holidays

The weather may be cold, but the City of Perth’s events schedule will sizzle with activities to keep kids entertained these school holidays.

Headlining the City’s winter events calendar, is the Perth premiere of the world-renowned Lightscape which will transform Kings Park into a wonderland of light, colour and sound.

Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas said the global phenomenon was bound to amaze and delight people of all ages.

“We’re so proud to be supporting Lightscape’s first ever Perth show, illuminating our City of light, night after night,” Mr Zempilas said.

“The magical 1.8km trail through the iconic Kings Park is already receiving rave reviews, and they’re well deserved because it’s truly an incredible experience that the whole family will enjoy.”

From lights to snow the kids won’t want to miss School’s Out Winter Fest. The Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre will be transformed into a winter wonderland, with everything from the City of Light Ice Rink to snow slides and carnival rides.

Throughout the school holidays anticipation will also be building ahead of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™, as Perth/Boorloo celebrates its role as a host city.

The FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™ Original Trophy will be welcomed during a celebration at Forrest Place on Friday 7 July.

Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas encouraged the community to get behind the Matildas as they represent Australia on the world stage.

Forrest Place will also be the home of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™ Perth/Boorloo Fan Zone when the tournament gets underway later in the month.
