All ACT Government sportsgrounds will be closed for training and match play tomorrow Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November 2020 due to the recent rain and heavy rain forecast over the coming days.
Closures include turf sportsgrounds, excluding the Melrose and Nicholls synthetic fields and the Woden athletic track.
The decision has been taken in order to minimise damage to the turf surfaces and in the interests of public safety.
Heavy rainfall is forecast to fall throughout most of Saturday, with cold temperatures and low evaporation rates and as a result, grounds will be slow to dry out.
The condition of the grounds will continue to be assessed, with any decision on reopening sportsgrounds to be made on Monday 2 November 2020.
