Community consulted on Lake Illawarra jetties

The NSW Government is seeking feedback from the Wollongong community on priority upgrade work to Lake Illawarra’s public jetties.

The Department of Planning, Industry and Environment – Crown Lands is conducting an online survey which will be followed by information sessions on its jetty upgrade program.

There are a number of public jetties that Crown Lands inherited from the former Lake Illawarra Authority that are in need of repair.

The NSW Government has allocated $1.3 million from its COVID-19 stimulus program to upgrade Lake IIlawarra jetties which are managed by Crown Lands.

The stimulus funding will see $390,000 allocated this financial year and $910,000 next financial year to be targeted at priority jetty repairs and upgrades.

The Department is seeking community input to help determine which jetties are priorities for the community and identify if all jetty structures are still used by the community.

Members of the public are invited to undertake a short online survey by 30 January 2021 to provide comments on what jetty structures they would like to see given priority upgrades.

Drop-in information sessions are also planned for 28 and 30 January. Residents can register
