New skate park, play spaces coming to Chichester Park in Woodvale

The Cook Labor Government is delivering for the Woodvale community, with construction now underway on major upgrades to Chichester Park.

The $800,000 project will deliver a new beginner-level skate park, a modernised play space with new equipment and shade sails, and a renewed basketball and netball pad.

The upgrades will also include new picnic shelters and seating, improved footpaths, landscaping, park furniture, and a new drink fountain, creating a more welcoming and accessible space for the local community.

Funded by the Cook Labor Government, the project delivers on an election commitment and forms part of PlayOn WA: 2030 by 2030, which is driving investment in quality community sport and recreation infrastructure across the State.

The upgrades will help ensure Chichester Park keeps pace with the needs of the growing Woodvale community. The new facilities will also provide more opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to get outdoors, connect and be active.

The project is part of the Cook Labor Government’s commitment to delivering the infrastructure and services Western Australians need, no matter where they live.

As stated by Sport and Recreation Minister Rita Saffioti:

“Chichester Park is a much-loved local space, and these upgrades will make it even better for families, kids and the wider Woodvale community.

“We’re delivering a new skate park, better play equipment, more shade and improved courts, giving locals more ways to get outdoors, be active and spend time together.

“Through PlayOn WA, we’re continuing to invest in grassroots sport and recreation infrastructure, making sure local facilities keep pace with growing communities.”

“The revitalised recreational facilities will ensure Chichester Park remains a vibrant and welcoming space for the Woodvale community.
