Nineteen Western Australian community housing providers (CHPs) have received a share in almost $900,000 through Round One of the Community Housing Futures WA Business Advisory Grants program.
The Business Advisory Grants stream supports community housing providers build the capability to grow and deliver more social homes, expand their housing services, such as tenancy support programs or refine governance practices.
These grants are administered by Shelter WA as part of the Community Housing Futures WA program. This new capability program has been supported by a $6 million investment from the Cook Labor Government in early 2026.
The program is also delivering growth readiness assessments and learning and development opportunities.
Shelter WA is the peak body for community housing and homelessness in Western Australia and currently represents 84 members across the community housing and homelessness sector.
The State Labor Government has invested a record $10.8 billion in housing measures since 2021, delivering more than 4,300 social homes in that time.
This includes significant investments in projects that will be managed by CHPs, delivering more social homes and affordable rentals for key workers and those on low to moderate incomes.

“These grants will support the expanded capacity and sustainability of 19 CHPs, enabling the delivery of more homes and crucial services that support the tenancies of vulnerable Western Australians.
“This program is funded by our $6 million partnership with Shelter WA to build and support the capacity and capability of Western Australia’s CHPs.”
