Dangerous Operation Of Motor Vehicle At Bowenville

A 47-year-old man has been charged following a traffic crash involving a Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) vehicle on the Warrego Highway near Bowenville, on 2 November.

About 9.30pm, a QAS vehicle was transporting a male patient to hospital when it was allegedly struck by a grey Mitsubishi Triton travelling in the opposite direction.

Police will allege the Mitsubishi driver crossed onto the incorrect side of the road, colliding with the ambulance and causing it to roll.

The driver of the Mitsubishi then allegedly fled the scene on foot into a nearby field.

Police and emergency services attended, with the driver a 33-year-old Miles woman, a 54-year-old Red Hill woman and a 49-year-old male patient from Chinchilla all sustaining minor injuries.

Following extensive enquiries officers from the South West Tactical Crime Squad (TCS) located the man at a Dalby address on 3 November, where he was arrested and taken into custody.

A 47-year-old Bracken Ridge man has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, driving without a licence and failing to remain at an incident and render assistance.

He is due to appear in Dalby Magistrates Court on 3 November.
