The annual fundraiser sees group members run or walk through Yeppoon, shaking donation cans and collecting coins as they visit local hotels and clubs.

Brendan Stone from Cutlery Hash House Harriers said it was the fourth time the group’s fundraiser has supported Carinity Wahroonga, with a total of $6,650 raised.

Since its first Red Dress Run in 2001, the running group has raised $47,000 for local charity and community organisations.

Brendan thanked Cutlery Hash House Harriers volunteers, community members, the Railway Hotel, Pacific Hotel, Keppel Bay Sailing Club and The Strand Hotel for their kind support.

The donations received will help Carinity Wahroonga counsellors to support more young people in the child safety system.

Carinity Wahroonga Program Coordinator, Sharyn Tengbom, thanked Cutlery Hash House Harriers and the Yeppoon community for supporting vulnerable youth in the region.

“Money raised by this wonderful initiative will enable Wahroonga to provide free counselling to more young people, including children who have been affected by trauma, abuse, or family violence,” Sharyn said.
