Community invited to attend Waste Wise Workshops

Strathbogie Shire Council invites residents to a free Waste Wise Workshop to be held throughout the Shire and online between August 16 to 20, 2022.

Mayor Laura Binks said a one-hour Waste Wise Workshop will be hosted at town libraries and online with Council’s waste education officer who will provide information and answer questions.

“These workshops are a great opportunity to discuss all things waste and recycling, and how everyone in our community can play their part in saving waste from landfill,” Cr Binks said.

“Come and learn about our three-bin system: how it works, where it all ends up and what you can do to help.

Participants can bring materials to the workshop to check if they are recyclable.

“We encourage community members to bring along anything from home which they are unsure about and get the answer from our local expert,” Cr Binks said.

“This will help people learn the best ways to sort their recycling at home.”

No bookings are required for the library sessions, but bookings are needed for the online session to receive the workshop link.
