Council is engaging the local community to help develop a masterplan for the site at 3-5 Rollo Street in Yarragon (formerly Yarragon Primary School).
From Monday 18 January through to 19 February 2021, Yarragon residents and the wider community will have the opportunity to share their view on the best use for the site via an easy-to-complete survey, available both in print and online via Council’s website.
Potential uses identified in early consultation with a local Project Reference Group include (but are not limited to) playgrounds, recreation spaces, community gardens, sporting areas or mixed use.
Ultimately, the use of the site will hinge on the preferences of the local community and so all residents are urged to get involved in the consultation.
Next Steps
The feedback gathered during this January-February consultation will directly inform the draft masterplan for the site.
Once drafted, the masterplan will then go back to the community for further feedback and approval in May 2021.
With that secondary round of community feedback received and incorporated, the masterplan will then progress to Council for adoption in mid-2021.
