The Cook Labor Government is continuing to put Western Australia first by delivering the New Mandurah Hospital, with construction officially commencing following the award of the main works contract.
Built on vacant land adjacent to the existing Peel Health Campus, the New Mandurah Hospital will significantly expand health care capacity, deliver more beds, strengthen health services, and ensure more people can access the care they need closer to home.
The Cook Labor Government is continuing to invest in health infrastructure and has awarded the main works contract to Built Pty Limited and Sacyr Construction Australia Pty Limited.
The project will deliver a modern hospital with expanded clinical capacity and a broader range of public health services to meet the needs of one of Western Australia’s fastest-growing regions.
As part of the redevelopment, all services currently provided at the existing hospital will be replaced with modern, purpose-built facilities while significantly expanding the capacity of the public health system.
Once complete, the New Mandurah Hospital will provide an emergency department, Mental Health Emergency Centre, chemotherapy, and renal, perioperative, birthing and women’s ward and palliative care facilities – ensuring all Western Australians can access the health care they need, when they need it.
The Cook Labor Government is delivering new hospital capacity, adding more than 110 beds to the WA Health system, including a dedicated Mental Health Emergency Centre providing specialised support for people experiencing acute mental health conditions. A larger emergency department with more treatment bays and expanded short-stay capacity will also support faster, more responsive care.
Forward works are already underway, including site utility services, enabling earthworks, and additional staff parking, with the award of the main works contract representing the next major milestone in delivering this important project.
The project forms part of the record $5.5 billion investment in health infrastructure.
The New Mandurah Hospital is in addition to the recently opened Peel Community Mental Health Service and Kara Maar Specialist Community Eating Disorder Service in Greenfields, which offers consulting suites and therapy spaces for community mental health services.

“Construction is underway on Royal Perth Hospital’s new and expanded emergency department, we are building a New Women and Babies hospital, and we have recently completed the expansions of Fremantle and Joondalup Hospitals.
“When it comes to providing more services in the Peel region, only WA Labor can be trusted – we built the Mandurah Line, we bought the Peel Health Campus back into public ownership, and we are building Mandurah Common Ground.
“Now, we are once again delivering for Mandurah, with construction underway on a brand new hospital, modernising services and significantly expanding capacity.”
