Up to 120 passengers cruising around Australia on the Coral Adventurer will disembark at Trial Bay to spend a day touring South West Rocks and surrounds.
Once onshore, visitors will spend the day bushwalking, swimming and exploring local beaches and experiencing the local cafes, restaurants and boutiques of South West Rocks.
Day trippers can take one of two bushwalking tours showcasing surrounding landmarks including Smoky Cape Lighthouse and historic Trial Bay Gaol or a shopping tour of the village precinct.
Stephen Mitchell Director Corporate and Commercial said the economic benefit to the local businesses and future tourism for the area would be significant.
‘The cruise is an Australian flagged ship that has circumnavigated our coastline for a number of years. We’re excited that South West Rocks has been included in their itinerary for the first time. Visitors from the cruise will spend the entire day onshore exploring Hat Head National Park, Smoky Cape Lighthouse, Trial Bay Gaol and the village of South West Rocks.
‘We look forward to providing passengers a positive and memorable experience of the natural beauty, maritime history and café culture of our local area to share with their family and friends once they arrive home’, Mr Mitchell said.
The relatively small cruise ship will moor in deeper water out from the break wall at Trial Bay. Passengers will then be transported from the cruise ship to the shore by smaller vessels.
The Australian small cruise ship operator is an eco-tourism accredited business and industry leader in sustainable practices aimed to protect and preserve the natural environment.
Coral Adventurer will visit South West Rocks Tuesday 6 December 2022.
