Yesterday, 3,358 vaccine doses were administered by Victoria’s state-commissioned services. The total number of doses administered through state-run services is 4,842,149.
93.8 per cent of Victorians aged 12 and over have now had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 90.7 per cent have had two doses. This excludes the most recent Commonwealth data.
There are 283 COVID-19 cases in hospital in Victoria – 44 active cases and 53 cleared cases are in intensive care, with 20 cases on a ventilator.
Victoria was notified of 1,061 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. All cases were locally acquired. The 10 Local Government areas with the highest number of new cases are Casey, Hume, Wyndham, Brimbank, Melton, Whittlesea, Port Phillip. Greater Geelong, Darebin and Moreland.

There are 11,331 active cases in Victoria. The total number of confirmed cases in Victoria since the beginning of the pandemic is 119,815.
Sadly, the Department was notified yesterday of four deaths of people aged in their 60s, 80s and 90s. This brings the total number of deaths in Victoria since the pandemic began to 1,322.
52,930 COVID-19 tests were processed yesterday. The total number of tests performed in Victoria since the pandemic began is 15,031,649.
There are currently more than 36,000 active primary close contacts in isolation in Victoria.

New COVID-19 variant of concern
In response to the new Omicron B.1.1.529 COVID-19 variant of concern, Victorian health authorities are working with our Commonwealth and state and territory colleagues to better understand the potential implications of this new variant and which mitigation strategies are required to keep Australians protected.
As of 11.59pm Saturday 28 November, anyone arriving in Victoria who has been in one of nine southern African countries in the past 14 days will be required to undertake 14 days’ hotel quarantine.
All new vaccinated arrivals into Victoria from countries other than the nine countries must quarantine at home for 72 hours. This also applies to unvaccinated children under 12 years old, and unaccompanied minors, and anyone medically exempt from vaccination.
