There are 752 COVID-19 cases in hospital in Victoria – with 51 active cases in ICU, including 29 on a ventilator, and an additional 31 cleared cases in ICU.
5,676,934 vaccine doses have been administered by Victoria’s state-commissioned services, with 15,920 administered yesterday at state-run centres. 827 of the doses administered yesterday were for children aged 5 to 11.
41.5 per cent of Victorians aged 18 and over have had three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine. 93.5 per cent of Victorians aged 12 and over have had two doses. 46.7 per cent of Victorians between 5 and 11 have had one dose.
Victoria was notified of 12,157 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This includes:
- 6,569 who tested positive on a Rapid Antigen Test
- 5,588 who returned a positive result on a PCR test.
Sadly, the Department was notified yesterday of 34 deaths of people aged in their 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and 100s. Of today’s reported deaths, 17 were recorded as occurring in the past two days and the majority of deaths occurred in the past week. Four of the deaths are historic cases that occurred in November, December and mid-January.

There are 66,648 active cases in Victoria.
29,311 PCR tests were processed yesterday. The total number of PCR tests performed in Victoria since the pandemic began is 18,996,221.

Third doses for 16-17-year-olds available now
From today, all Victorian state-run vaccination centres are ready to start vaccinating eligible 16-17-year-olds with their third dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
The dose will be one dose of the adult Pfizer vaccine given three months after their second dose, as recommended by the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation.
There are 114,000 Victorians aged 16-17 years who are eligible as of today for a third-dose vaccination. The remaining 32,000 Victorians aged 16-17 years will become eligible as their three-month time period comes up.

Vaccination appointments
For people aged 12 years and over, there are 244,418 vaccination bookings available through state-run sites over the next 30 days.
For children aged 5-11 years, there are 80,783 appointments available over the next month and more than 32,000 appointments within the next seven days.
