Council will begin reopening facilities next week as COVID-19 restrictions begin to ease.
The Broken Hill City Library, Living Desert, and Geocentre will all open on October 11. The Broken Hill Regional Art Gallery will remain closed for renovations, however a pop-up gallery shop will operate in Town Square from October 11.
The Visitor Information Centre and Living Desert Campground will open on October 18, and Council’s Administrative Centre will then reopen when State-wide vaccination reaches 80% (estimated October 18-25).
Please note that proof of double vaccination, or proof of exemption from vaccination, will be required to enter Council facilities until restrictions are lifted on December 1.
The NSW Government has stated that fines of up to $11,000 will apply to organisations that serve unvaccinated customers, and Council will comply with the current regulations of the Health Order.
The Government has also stated that individuals can face $1,000 on the-spot-fines for failing to comply with vaccination requirements.
