Council Waste Services Update

Due to a recent COVID-19 positive case in our organisation and subsequent close contact exposure of some of our employees, our waste services continue to be limited temporarily.

The employee and much of our waste team are completing mandatory isolation post-testing.

Our landfills in Bombala, Cooma, and Jindabyne remain open to putrescible (decaying and rotting) residential waste ONLY and to commercial operators, with card payment only.

All transfer stations are closed.

If you’re making a truly necessary trip to the tip, please limit the volume of waste you’re bringing to essential and putrescible only. Facilities are running on a limited crew and volume needs to be kept low in order to keep our landfills open.

Landfill services are closed to all other waste (eg. green waste, recyclables). Please delay your drop off until we announce full reopening, which will hopefully be soon.

Payments are by card (EFTPOS, debit and credit card) only. Cash payments cannot be accepted.

Commercial operators can continue to access our landfill facilities as normal.

Thanks for your cooperation and patience during this challenging time. Our employees are doing their best with limited resources due to the impact of this positive case.
