COVID-19 – Infringement notice 19 June

Northern Territory Police have issued an infringement notice for failing to abide by the Chief Health Officer Directions issued under section 56 of the Public and Environmental Health Act 2011.

A 21-year-old woman arrived in Darwin from Queensland on Tuesday 16 June. Environmental Health Officers attended the woman’s place of quarantine yesterday and found she wasn’t home. Police attended the location and issued the woman with an infringement notice.

The infringement penalty for an individual is $1,099 and $5,495 for a business.

NT Police and Environmental Health Officers continue to undertake compliance activities.

17,035 compliance checks have now been completed and 70 fines issued.
