COVID business support, officer appointed 28 September

Swan Hill Rural City Council this week has appointed a COVID Support Officer to help businesses navigate restrictions, rules and regulations.

Thanks to the Victorian State Government, via the Business Concierge and Hospitality Support Program, businesses now have a Council representative that can help guide them through the ever changing COVID requirements.

Economic and Community Development Manager Adam Saddler said the constant changes surrounding COVIDSafe practices was exhausting for business owners and community members, and often difficult to interpret.

“We are pleased to have a dedicated COVID Support Officer available full-time to assist businesses and community groups to ‘get it right’ and keep our community safe”

“The role is a great support to strengthen the COVIDSafe practices already in place and reinforce the terrific work our community is doing,” he said.

“Ultimately, the position will act as a conduit between State Government, Council and those who operate under COVID restrictions.”

Community support will be provided through information on COVIDSafe Plans, tailoring information according language needs, advice on where to obtain further information and how to make a business COVIDSafe.

The COVID Support Officer will be visiting your business in the near future to introduce herself and discuss any COVID related issued with you.
