The Northern Territory is today reporting the death of a woman in her 40s with COVID-19. The NT Government extends its sincere condolences to her family and loved ones.
The woman is from Darwin and had pre-existing medical conditions. She was vaccinated.
This is the second death associated with COVID-19 in the Northern Territory.
There were 412 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in the Northern Territory in the 24 hours to 8pm on 14 January 2022. Of these, 134 were positive cases from a Rapid Antigen Test.
This takes the number of active cases in the NT to approximately 3,750.
Two new cases have been reported in Yuendumu, bringing the total number to 45. All cases and identified close contacts are in isolation. Further contact tracing is underway.
There are a total of 20 cases at the Alice Springs Correctional Facility, including 14 inmates reported today and six staff that were reported previously.
There are currently 32 patients in hospital, with 18 classified as acute hospital admissions. There are no patients in ICU.
2,230 COVID-19 PCR tests were processed across the NT yesterday.

Everyone should get tested for COVID-19 if showing symptoms. A number of NT Rapid Antigen Testing and Distribution Points here have been established. Individuals can collect RATs for free from NT distribution centres located in Darwin, Katherine, Nhulunbuy, Alice Springs and Tennant Creek.
