Hume City Council is proud to announce that Bridges Recreation Reserve in Craigieburn has been selected as one of only four outdoor training venues in Melbourne for the Men’s Rugby World Cup 2027.
The announcement will see Craigieburn welcome international rugby teams and visitors in October 2027, providing the community a unique opportunity to experience the excitement of the Men’s Rugby World Cup 2027.
Australia will host the Men’s Rugby World Cup 2027, with teams including Africa, Canada, China, Europe, Fiji, Japan, New Zealand, Samoa, South America, Tonga, the United Kingdom and the United States competing across seven Host Cities throughout the country.
Craigieburn is one of Hume’s fastest‑growing suburbs, home to approximately 71,297 residents. Bridges Recreation Reserve, located at 200 Olivers Road, is one of Hume’s premier sporting facilities and now selected as one of Melbourne’s outdoor training venues for this global event.
The Reserve underwent a significant $11.9 million upgrade in 2024 delivering a new sports pavilion, four rugby league pitches, eight touch football fields, car parking, a playspace, landscaping, pathways and public amenities.
