Greater Shepparton City Council advises the five community geese that had been living on Craigmuir Lake for the past five years have been relocated.
Previously, a local resident cared for the geese, feeding them each day and providing them with a safe place to sleep at night.
Sadly, this community member has since passed away, leaving the geese without a home and regular food.
The geese became lost without the care, often wandering away from the dam, so Council’s Rangers organised a trained Wildlife Carer to relocate the geese to a private dam where a new owner will care for them for the remainder of their lives.
