CRDC at Australian Cotton Conference

CRDC

CRDC is a proud foundation sponsor of the 2022 Australian Cotton Conference. We’ve been supporting conference since its very inception, and through our support, 400 cotton growers each recieve a $100 discount to attend. Now that’s #hereforgood.

We look forward to seeing you at the Gold Coast next week!

We’re #hereforgood!

The Conference theme is #hereforgood – a nod to the industry’s resilience over the last few years, as well as an opportunity to explore the positive contributions the industry is making in sustainability and research.

CRDC, Cotton Australia and the Sustainability Working Group have a session on day one (Tues 16 August) talking all things PLANET. PEOPLE. PADDOCK – join us for Session 2c, 2pm, room 5!

Visit us in the trade hall!

CRDC and CottonInfo are partnering on a stand in the trade hall. Ours is the very first stand you see as you come in the trade hall doors. The CRDC R&D Managers and CottonInfo Regional Extension Officers and Technical Leads will all be there: be sure to swing by!

While you’re at our stand, enter our competition, and provide your feedback on the priorities for the CRDC Strategic RD&E Plan 2023-28.

Meet the innovators!

There are a host of technologies and innovations in development that will drive impact in cotton production and the supply chain – and through Innovation Alley at Conference, we’re connecting you with 12 of these!

Innovation Alley is an initiative of CRDC, the Australian Cotton Conference and growAG. You can find Innovation Alley in the trade hall, and in the program – Session 3c on Tues 16 Aug (4:15pm in room 5): Let’s hear it for the innovators!

Celebrating CottonInfo’s 10th birthday!

CottonInfo was officially established at the 2012 Australian Cotton Conference, which means it’s celebrating 10 years at this year’s event!

A partnership between CRDC, Cotton Australia and CSD, CottonInfo has run or delivered 1,300 activities to connect growers with research over the past 10 years. 8 out of 10 participants say they’ve learned something significant and indicated they would make a change to their system as a result.

Putting research on the agenda!

CRDC has been working closely with the Conference team to ensure that research is a key feature of the agenda. Almost half of the speakers at Conference are supported in some way by CRDC: be it our amazing CRDC-supported researchers or Innovation Alley innovators, or CRDC’s own team and board directors.

We’re also supporting researchers to attend: 12 early-career researchers will have their first Conference experience thanks to CRDC’s support.

Good luck to the finalists!

The Cotton Industry Awards are being held at the Conference next week, and we wish the three CSD Researcher of the Year finalists the best of luck!

CRDC is proud to support the three finalists – CRDC and CottonInfo’s Stacey Vogel, UNE and CottonInfo’s Dr Oliver Knox, and NSW DPI’s Dr Mick Rose – in delivering outcomes for the Australian cotton industry. The recipient of the 2022 award will be announced on Thursday night.
