A critical incident investigation has been launched after a woman suffered a suspected overdose in Sydney’s west today.
Just after 5pm (Wednesday 27 December 2023), officers attached to Blacktown Police Area Command attended an address on Gordan Street, Blacktown, as part of an ongoing investigation.
Officers spoke with a 32-year-old woman before she ingested an unknown amount of medication.
She was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.
A crime scene was established with a critical incident team from Nepean Police Area Command investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
That investigation will be subject to an independent review.
