Water main break has been located in Gordon Street. Immediate area isolated, staff working on it, expected 2 hours repair time.

The Rous Water emergency supply area (CBD, area east of Federation Bridge – down to high school) is live again.

The water main break has meant Azalea Reservoir has emptied. People in Pine Avenue will have had no water.

  • Council has now setup a water filling tanker at Pine Avenue Soccer Fields. Staff have advised local resident leaders who are spreading the word. People need to bring jugs/cannisters – there is no bottled water available at Pine A
  • Council staff are doing their best to go round to vulnerable people in the area to get them drinking water
  • There is a limited supply of bottled water at the Mullum Civic Hall.

The guys have worked over night and have got limited clean drinking water which is now filling Azalea reservoir again. People in pine avenue will soon start to get water supply.

Water is clean – There is no need to boil water.

Water is to be used for drinking/essential purposes only!

With ongoing weather, the raw water at Laverty Gap weir is become harder to treat.
