Current chair reappointed to Metro South Hospital and Health Board

  • A long-term chair has been reappointed as the Board Chair to govern the Metro South Hospital and Health Board.

A 10-person board underpinned with experience in health, business and law has been appointed to govern the Metro South Hospital and Health Service (HHS).

Minister for Health, Mental Health and Ambulance Services and Minister for Women Shannon Fentiman announced the newly appointed board, which will be led by Janine Walker AM.

Janine Walker continues in her role as Chair, which she has undertaken since 2018. She has been a member of the Board since 2016.

Ms Walker is a human resources expert with a background in health, academia and broadcasting. She has previously been a Board Member of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and a Board Director of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

Four people have also been newly appointed as members of the Board.

Dr Muhammad Daniyal Mian, Dr Vu Tran, Gail Ker OAM and Nadia Bromley bring a wealth of experience across the asset management, law, multicultural services and general practice sectors.

Mr Colin Cassidy PSM, Ms Donisha Duff and Mr Michael Goss have renewed their membership for another term and join two continuing members still within their current term.

The new board, which will set the strategic direction and oversee the management of the Metro South HHS, consists of:
