Cyclist in critical condition after Rosanna collision

Police are investigating following a collision between a car and a cyclist in Rosanna yesterday afternoon.

It’s understood a grey 2007 Nissan Tida sedan was travelling west on Lower Plenty Road when it collided with a cyclist, riding a black bicycle and wearing black riding clothing, about 4.25pm.

The cyclist, a 54-year-old St Kilda man, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital.

The driver, a 56-year-old Tullamarine woman, stopped at the scene to assist and has been released pending further enquiries.

Investigators have spoken with several people who were in the area at the time and witnessed the collision.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Police are asking anyone who might have seen the cyclist riding west up Lower Plenty Road near Waiora Road prior to the collision, or anyone with dashcam footage of the incident to come forward and speak with police.
