Decision on future Federation Council before Christmas

Residents of Federation Council are set to know their nine Councillors in the days prior to Christmas.

The NSW Electoral Commission has announced that the distribution of preferences will occur on Tuesday, 21 December at 10.30am at the Returning Office in Sanger Street.

As of Monday, December 13, 7,838 first preference votes have been counted.

Federation Council General Manager Adrian Butler thanked all residents who have voted thus far.

“Thank you to all residents for voting in the Local Government elections,” he said.

“I know our community is looking forward with anticipation to receiving the final results and we look forward to sharing them as soon as the distribution of preferences occurs and the Electoral Commission makes their official announcement.”

The first meeting of the new Council is set to occur on Thursday, December 23 at 11am.

The progressive quota is currently sitting at 710 votes in order to be elected. Residents are encouraged to view the results on the NSW Electoral Commission website.
