The Crisafulli Government is delivering for Queensland with generational infrastructure for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, in the 2026-27 Budget.

This Budget is strengthening the foundations for a fresh start by building Queensland’s future, and getting the Games back on track after 1,200 days of chaos under Labor.

This includes starting works for the Brisbane Stadium at Victoria Park, which will deliver a world-class venue for 2032 and beyond as part of the $7.1 billion jointly funded 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games Intergovernmental Agreement.

The Budget progresses $417 million to deliver venues across the State that will host Games events and deliver generational sports and events legacy beyond 2032, including upgrades at Barlow Park, the Moreton Bay Indoor Sports Centre, Logan Indoor Sports Centre, Redland Whitewater Centre, Sunshine Coast Stadium and Sunshine Coast Mountain Bike Centre, and planning and design for the National Aquatic Centre.

Planning is also progressing for detailed design of the athlete villages on the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Brisbane and Rockhampton, to ensure a once-in-a-generation housing legacy is delivered.

Deputy Premier and Minister for State Development, Infrastructure and Planning Jarrod Bleijie said the 2026-27 Budget was delivering the infrastructure needed to make the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games a success and leave a lasting legacy for Queensland.

“The Games are back on track with significant progress made in just over 12 months since the Crisafulli Government released its 2032 Delivery Plan, to deliver a Games for all Queenslanders as well as generational infrastructure and housing beyond 2032, and we’re ensuring that momentum continues,” Deputy Premier Bleijie said.

“After 1,200 days of Games chaos under the former Labor Government, we’re methodically finalising designs and procuring construction partners for our 2032 and beyond venues and villages to deliver generational and state-shaping infrastructure and economic benefits across Queensland.”

Treasurer David Janetzki said the 2026-27 Budget was about delivering for Queensland with a better lifestyle through a stronger economy.

“We are delivering on our promises, with relief you can rely on through responsible decisions for now and the future, and no new or increased taxes,” Treasurer Janetzki said.

“This Budget strengthens the foundations we’ve laid in making Queensland safer, restoring health services, delivering a place to call home for more Queenslanders, building generational infrastructure, getting the Games back on track, as well as playing our part to ease national cost of living pressures.”
