The Crisafulli Government is delivering for Queensland by unlocking home ownership for more Queenslanders in the 2026-27 Budget.

The Budget is strengthening the foundations for a fresh start by delivering a place to call home for more Queenslanders, with better services through a stronger economy.

The Crisafulli Government is unlocking home ownership for more Queenslanders with the Boost to Buy home ownership scheme, First Home Owner Grants and no stamp duty for first home buyers on new homes.

Queensland sat at the bottom of the home ownership ladder under Labor, the Crisafulli Government is unlocking home ownership to raise Queensland to the top of the ladder within a decade.

Queensland first home buyers will benefit from stamp duty relief being locked-in law with the 2026-27 Budget, with more than $60 million in relief to be delivered each year as part of the Crisafulli Government’s change.

Since the Crisafulli Government abolished stamp duty for first home buyers on new homes in May 2025, more than 3,500 Queenslanders have already benefited, saving more than $66 million.

More than $70 million has been budgeted to assist first home owners with $30,000 First Home Owner Grants locked into the Budget for four years.

Treasurer and Minister for Home Ownership David Janetzki said the Crisafulli Government was unlocking home ownership for more Queenslanders.

“We are delivering a place to call home for more Queenslanders by unlocking home ownership sooner,” Treasurer Janetzki said.

“After a decade of no plans and declining approvals under the former Labor Government, we’re lifting Queensland from the bottom of the home ownership ladder and getting more people into their first home.

“Labor’s Housing Crisis left Queenslanders struggling to keep a roof over their head. We know the dream of home ownership has slipped out of reach for too many, which is why we’re cutting the costs that hold people back.

“Our nation leading Boost to Buy scheme has already seen more than 100 Queenslanders move into their first home with hundreds more working through pre-approvals or searching for their first home.

“By locking-in the First Home Owner Grant and abolishing stamp duty for first home buyers on new homes, we’re driving down barriers and getting more Queenslanders through the door.

“This Budget backs aspiration, supports young families and workers and makes sure more Queenslanders have a place to call home.”

Treasurer David Janetzki said the 2026-27 Budget was about delivering for Queensland.

“We are delivering on our promises, with relief you can rely on through responsible decisions for now and the future, and no new or increased taxes,” he said.

“This Budget strengthens the foundations we’ve laid in making Queensland safer, restoring health services, delivering a place to call home for more Queenslanders, building generational infrastructure, getting the Games back on track, as well as playing our part to ease national cost of living pressures.”
