Department of Agriculture and Fisheries Annual bull and cow sale

2 July 2026

The Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF) annual bull and cow sale will be conducted online from 9am Monday 6 July to 12pm Wednesday 8 July 2026, providing producers across northern Australia with access to proven, Territory-bred cattle.

The auction will be held through the Auctions Plus platform, with Elders contracted to conduct and promote the sale on behalf of DAF. Auction details and the sale catalogue are available at DAF BULL & COW SALE – Auction 128583 here.

The sale will feature cattle with Estimated Breeding Values (EBVs), and all bulls have passed a breeding soundness evaluation conducted by an accredited veterinarian.

Developed through decades of departmental research and breeding programs, the cattle have been selected for traits that support productivity in northern Australia, including fertility, functionality, performance and adaptation to Territory conditions and live export production systems.

Bull selection is one of the most important decisions affecting herd profitability, with genetics influencing herd performance and productivity for up to ten years.

The Department of Agriculture and Fisheries remains committed to supporting a productive and profitable livestock industry by providing access to quality genetics that help drive industry growth and diversification, while contributing to the ongoing economic strength of regional communities across the Northern Territory.
