Detectives investigate Braybrook Carjacking

Detectives from the Maribyrnong Crime Investigation Unit are investigating following a carjacking in Braybrook earlier this year.

Investigators have been told the victim, a 36-year-old Braybrook man, heard his car alarm sounding and went to check on his vehicle was parked in Churchill Avenue about 4.10pm.

He observed a group of unknown male offenders attempting to steal his vehicle.

When the victim attempted to intervene the group assaulted him and when he fell unconscious they stole his car keys.

They fled in the victim’s black Toyota Camry sedan.

The victim sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital for treatment.

The car was driven a short distance before colliding with a fence in Vine Street and abandoned in Rennison Street about 4.30pm.

The offenders were all perceived to be African and caucasian in appearance.

Detectives have released images of the vehicle and a group of men they believe can assist with their enquiries in relation to the incident.
