Armed Crime Squad detectives are investigating after a man was shot in the leg in Sunbury this morning.
Detectives have been told the victim parked his car outside a Belleview Drive residence when he was shot in the leg by a male offender just after 1am.
The gunman fled from the scene in what is believed to be a white or silver 4WD.
The 57-year-old Sunbury man sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to hospital.
Investigators believe the 4WD may have been in the area for an extended period of time in the lead-up to the incident and are appealing to anyone who may have sighted the vehicle to come forward.
