Dig your family history

Ever wondered who you are or where you’re from? Maybe you’re keen to know what your ancestors looked like or you’re wanting to learn more about the uncanny resemblance you share with your great, great, great maternal grandmother?

This month, (August) is National Family History Month and to celebrate, Stonnington Libraries are sharing some resources to help you with your own research.

Library members will have the opportunity to discover something new, something old or even something they’ve been curious about through:

The Ancestry Library Edition – an online research database giving you instant access to a wide range of resources for genealogical and historical research from Australia, NZ, USA and the UK. You can visit our libraries to access this digital resource, and

The Family History Club – a group of beginner and experienced family history researchers who meet monthly at Malvern Library to chat about their research findings and explore the many genealogy resources available. Find out when the next session is running.

Our libraries are welcoming and inclusive places to connect, learn and explore, and we invite you to come in, fossick and find your own ancestral bonds that tie your family history and heritage.
