Disqualified driver charged after drugs, cash found in car at Deniliquin, NSW

A man will face court today after drugs and cash were allegedly found during a vehicle stop in the state’s south west.

Shortly after 10.30pm Saturday (22 February 2020) police allegedly witnessed a green Holden sedan travelling at speed on Ochertyre Street, Deniliquin.

Police stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, a 43-year-old man.

Upon searching the vehicle, officers allegedly located and seized cannabis, ‘ice’ and a large quantity of cash.

The man was arrested and taken to Deniliquin Police Station, where he was charged with drive motor vehicle during disqualification period, two counts of possess prohibited drug, supply prohibited drug and deal with property proceeds of crime.

He was refused bail and is due to face Griffith Local Court today (Monday 24 February 2020).
