Driver and passenger arrested after stolen car crashes at Highbury, South Australia

Police have arrested a man and two women following a crash at Highbury this afternoon.

Just after 1.30pm, Monday 15 August, patrols and emergency crews were called to Lower North East Road after a stolen white Camry crashed into a Mazda sedan pushing it into oncoming traffic on the other side of the road. The Mazda then crashed into a bronze Toyota sedan.

The driver of the stolen Camry and his female passenger, were seen by witnesses to leave the crash scene on foot. Investigations by police led them a house at Para Vista where they located and arrested the driver and his passenger.

A 30-year-old man from Ingle Farm and a 23-year-old woman from Goodwood are expected to be charged in relation to the stolen Camry and the crash. While at the Para Vista address, police also located a 27-year-old woman from Para Vista who was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

The driver of the Mazda sedan, a 31-year-old woman from Northfield was taken to the Flinders Medical Centre to be medically assessed while the driver of the bronze Toyota, a 41-year-old woman from Greenwith, was thankfully not injured.

The stolen white Camry was taken from a break-in at a Prospect address on Friday 12 August.

Investigations are continuing.
