A man has been fined after he was detected travelling more than 40 km/h over the speed limit at West Hindmarsh.
At about 12.15pm on Sunday 27 September, a mobile speed camera detected an Audi RSQ8 travelling at 106 km/h in a 60 km/h zone on Port Road.
Western District and Road Policing patrols searched the area and located the vehicle and driver a short time later in the car park of a nearby hardware store.
The driver, a 39-year-old Parkside man, was issued a $2,018 fine and nine demerit points for driving at an excessive speed.
He was also issued with an immediate six-month loss of licence.
Drivers who choose to exceed the speed limit put themselves and other road users at risk and can expect to face significant penalties.
Speeding reduces a driver’s ability to react and is a major factor in fatal and serious injury crashes on South Australian roads.
