Driver seriously injured in crash in Lidcombe

A man has been taken to hospital in a serious condition following a single-vehicle crash in Sydney’s west yesterday.

About 11pm (Saturday 31 October 2020), emergency services were called to Olympic Drive near Joseph Street, Lidcombe, after reports a vehicle had crashed into a telegraph pole.

The driver and sole occupant of the Honda Civic was trapped for an hour and a half, before he was freed by Fire and Rescue NSW.

The 21-year-old man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Officers from Auburn Police Area Command established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist forensic police.
