Drug and dangerous driving charges in Browns Plains, QLD

Logan police have charged a 26-year-old Regency Downs man with multiple drug and driving offences after he allegedly crashed a vehicle in Browns Plains last night (June 28).

Just before 9.30pm Polair observed a white Hyundai Tucson leaving a residence on Hunter Street, Woodridge, allegedly driving dangerously and travelling at high speed through numerous red traffic lights.

Polair continued to track the vehicle southbound on the Pacific Motorway (M1), before it exited the M1 onto River Hills Road.

A short time later the driver was allegedly seen exiting the vehicle and changing the registration plates, before re-entering and driving northbound on the M1.

Polair continued tracking the vehicle as it exited the M1 onto the Logan Motorway. A tyre deflation device was successfully deployed on the Logan Motorway, Tanah Merah.

The man allegedly continued driving as the vehicle lost its front passenger tyre. A short time later the vehicle lost control before crashing into the kerb at the intersection of Wembley Road and Browns Plains Road. He allegedly tried to flee the scene, however police arrested him a short time later.

A search of the vehicle allegedly uncovered multiple rounds of ammunition, a quantity of methylamphetamine and GBL and a concealable knife.

He was charged with one count of dangerous operation of a vehicle, two counts of possessing dangerous drugs, one count of driving while disqualified, one count of authority required to possess explosives, one count of unlawful possession of a weapon and one count of receiving tainted property.
