Drug bust at Lang Lang checkpoint

A vehicle intercept at the Lang Lang checkpoint uncovered a large quantity of drugs this morning (24 July).

Southern Metro Division 3 Frontline Tactical Unit members were manning the checkpoint when a vehicle tried to evade and drive on about 6.20am.

After being pulled over at the checkpoint, the female driver allegedly returned a positive oral drug test.

A male passenger was also detected to be affected by drugs.

A search of the vehicle uncovered a large quantity of methylamphetamine, heroin, cocaine, prescription drugs and drug paraphernalia.

The female driver and her male passenger have both been charged with various drug possession and trafficking offences as well as breach of CHO directions.

The pair have been remanded to appear before a court at a later date.
