Drugs, firearms and cash seized in Maffra

Officers from the Wellington Family Violence Investigation Unit have arrested a man and a woman in Maffra as part of an ongoing investigation.

A search warrant was executed at a Cameron Court address on Tuesday 12 September about 8.30am.

Police located a 12-gauge shotgun and handgun during the warrant.

It’s alleged a large quantity of cannabis and cash was also seized at the address.

A 22-year-old man and 59-year-old woman were arrested and have been charged with a number of offences.

The Maffra man has been charged with:

• prohibited person possess firearm

• possess a drug of dependence

• possess ammunition

The Maffra woman has been charged with:

• possess a drug of dependence

• traffic a drug of dependence

• possess imitation firearm

• fail to provide information or assistance data under warrant

• deal proceeds of crime

Both the man and woman have been bailed to appear before Sale Magistrates’ Court, 30 January 2024.

The Wellington Shire ranger was notified due to domestic animals and conditions.
