Drugs hidden in eyelash glue remover bottles; woman charged in Sydney’s west, NSW

Police have charged a woman with offences relating to drug supply after an investigation in Sydney’s west.

In December 2018, police from Region Enforcement Squad Wetherill Park (RES), established Strike Force Colas to investigate the large-scale importation and distribution of 15ml bottles labelled as eyelash glue remover, believed to be gamma butyrolactone (GBL)

Following inquiries, a 48-year-old woman was arrested at a Cobbitty home about 10am yesterday (Wednesday 27 February 2019).

Police executed a search warrant at the home on Bibb Avenue and a granny flat that had been converted into a beauty shop.

Inside the home, officers seized six unopened boxes, each containing 200 15ml bottles of fake eyelash glue remover believed to contain GBL; an open box containing 215 x 15ml bottles of fake eyelash glue remover believed to contain GBL; cash, a mobile phone, electronic storage devices and financial documents.

The woman was taken to Narellan Police Station and charged with 15 offences,

  • Supply prohibited drug – large commercial quantity (x4),
  • Supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis,
  • Import commercial quantity of border-controlled drug,
  • Supply prohibited drug -commercial quantity (x4),
  • Organises/conducts etc drug premises expose child,
  • Introduce industrial chemicals and not registered for year,
  • Deal with property proceeds of crime,
  • Supply prohibited drug >indictable, and
  • Possess prohibited drug

She was refused bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court today (Thursday 28 February 2019).
