Drugs seized during routine traffic stop at Logan

A 27-year-old Cornubia man will face two counts of possessing dangerous drugs after Logan police allegedly uncovered a significant amount of cocaine and methylamphetamine during a routine traffic stop.

Just before 7pm on Friday 19 June, police intercepted a white Mazda utility vehicle travelling along Maranda Street in Shailer Park.

After conducting a licence check, police allegedly found close to 130 grams of cocaine concealed in five plastic bags. Police allegedly also found close to 30 grams of methylamphetamine in a grocery bag, as well as a small quantity of MDMA. Police also allegedly seized $1,000 cash.

The drugs are believed to have a street value of close to $50,000.

The man will appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on September 16.
